Timberland Management

Timberland & Database Management Services

One of the most important steps in managing your timberland is the formation of a management plan that is tailored to your situation.  This planning phase can be as simple as preparing a brief management prescription for one tract, or as complex as developing annual allowable harvests, operating budgets, management policies, or even investment strategies for larger ownerships.

Each LFP management prescription is indexed to net present value and the targeted IRR for the particular investment. For example fertilization rates and total cost will be precisely designed to achieve the targeted IRR and targeted date of harvest for each timber stands and investment.

The forest management process depends on the needs that you may have.  We can provide services that include silvicultural prescriptions, timber marking services, boundary line identification, forest road planning, building, and maintenance, insect and disease assessment, security visits, gate and lock maintenance, wildlife enclosure services, herbicide application services, lease management, etc.

La Foresta employs the latest digital technology including Data Recorders, Global Positioning System, and Geographical Information System.  With our database system we can continuously track activities on your investment and provide you with a variety of reports, including growth and value estimates that can be used for a variety of purposes.  Our high tech, digital capabilities include: Mapping Functions, Cruise Design/Layout, Timber Inventory, Timber Growth, Timber Asset Management, Forest Typing, Timber Sale Tracking, Herbicide Activities, Harvest Scheduling, Insect/Disease Activities, Non-timber Related Data Management, Wildlife Habitat Management, Road Maintenance, Gate Maintenance, Maturity Modelling, General Portfolio Evaluation, and Budgeting.
